Information:
Son of Charles Richard de Courcy Peele, and of Evelyn Margaret Peele, of Chiswick Park, London. Head boy of Rugby School, 1941-1942; Scholar of Trinity College, Oxford. was granted an emergency commission on 1 April 1944 serving with the Parachute Regiment. He qualified as a parachutist at RAF Ringway on Course 113 which ran from 24 April to 7 May and was posted as Platoon Commander of 7 Platoon C Company 11th Parachute Battalion. The Battalion took part in Operation Market Garden and parachuted into Holland at Ginkel Heath near Arnhem as part of the 4th Parachute Brigade on 18 September. Initially given a field burial at Garden Acacialaan near Oosterbeek. On Ruzawi Preparatory School War Memorial, near Marandellas, Rhodesia
