Daughter of Col. and Mrs. T. S. Parrott, of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. Born in Australia her father having gone out there from England in the 1860's to explore and survey Western Queensland. Amy had moved to South Africa to live for unknown reasons, however likely due to the fact her brother Sydney was a mine manager there. She trained as a nurse in South Africa and when war broke out she offered her services and nursed the troops throughout the war. On returning home an epidemic of pneumonic influenza broke out in Johannesburg. She volunteered to assist but caught the disease and died three days later. |
