Died of injuries, at 133 Mil Hospital, Cottesloe, Johannesburg. He had been beset by injuries during his military service, fractured pelvis in a lorry accident in June 1942, wounded in action in Italy near Civita Castellane in June 1944 and returned to the Union. He was in and out of hospital until his death.
