Died of wounds, wounded on the 17th July, shrapnel wound to the head, during the advance of "A" Sqdn between Radda and Verline, Italy, but died later the same day and was temporarily buried along the roadside at Ossaia, Italy. He was later moved to the Assisi War Cemetery.
