Killed in action, by enemy shellfire, shrapnel wounds, while standing to in his firing trench. He was found to be missing on the following morning and after a search, his body was found under the snow. He must have died before 03:00 as that was when the shelling stopped. His Coy (B Coy) had stood to all night on account of the attack at Saligastro. |
