Died of wounds. Elements of "C" Coy, while on patrol near Gelib, Somaliland, were approached by an Italian officer under a white flag, apparently with the intention of surrendering. The Patrol Commander went forward to arrange matters but while this was underway, they were surrounded by Italian Native troops who opened fire on them from under cover |
