LG Sup 3 October 1918 - "For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty during three days' fighting. When the line was under heavy fire he by good shooting and disregard of danger put a machine-gun out of action and kept the enemy fire down. He then organised and led an attack and captured his objective. When the enemy attacked next day, he set a fine example to his men by his coolness and devotion to duty under heavy artillery and machine-gun fire." |
