MC LG Sup 16 September 1918 pg. 10981 - "For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty when in command of a successful raid. He captured a prisoner and demolished the enemy's trenches, afterwards withdrawing his party without loss. He had previously reconnoitred this position both by day and night". He led patrols and obtained valuable information under heavy shell and sniping fire.
