Killed in action, Wellington HX518, attacked at the height of the islands Sisargas. The aircraft had taken off from England to the Middle East and met a Ju-88, which rose rapidly to gain speed on them. In two passes tripped the HX518, but in turn the Junkers was shot down by defensive fire from Wellington HX423, which was damaged |

Son of Wilhelm Felix Lourenz Konigkramer and Dorothy Evelyn, nee Pearce. Born Westville, Natal. Educated Malvern Intermediate Government School, Natal. Cadet Draft 1935-36. After completing his course in General Botha, Wilfred Ernold Konigkramer joined Andrew Weir & Co, and in 1941 enlisted with the RAF and became Sergeant.
