Killed in action, when his General Grant Tank was knocked out by enemy anti-tank fire in the Sidi el Rahman area. His remains, together with the remains of the other four crew members were recovered by the British Graves Concentration Unit after they were found still inside the partially burnt-out tank when it was brought into the British Tank Recovery Unit yard at Sidi el Rahman. |
