Killed in action, during a 7:00am counter-attack to drive the Japanese out of a copse. They attacked from the east and drove the Japanese into a Chinese shrine - which they attacked with grenades. This all occurred near St. Stephens College, Stanley during the final day of Hong Kong's defense. Leader of the attack is wounded and 4 men killed, Johns being one of them. |
