Cause of Death:
Died in Aircraft Accident, Hampden bomber AD783, departed RAF Station Wigsley at 2345 hours 12 Feb 42 to lay mines in the Wangerooge area off Emden, Germany. When the port engine began spluttering the aircraft turned back for Wigsley. On its downwind circuit at 0155hrs 13 Feb 42 the aircraft crashed and caught fire near Eagle village, 10km SW of Lincoln. All the crew were killed in the crash
